Confused about all the buttons on your dSLR or mirrorless camera? Learn to take full control of your images in this fun, interactive, and hands-on course that will teach you to master your camera’s settings and create professional-quality photographs. We’ll work together in an online format to give you a chance to learn and ask questions, work through assignments, and view interactive lectures and learning materials.
In addition to learning about settings, shooting modes, file types and management, and the “exposure triangle,” this course will teach photographers to think as artists, understand compositions, and learn professional editing and online publishing.
Students will create many different types of photography, including landscapes, portraits, street, lifestyle and more. Students will leave each class knowing new tips, tricks, and techniques to enhance their everyday shooting and inspire them to create visually stunning photographs.
We are pleased to offer this class online using Zoom video conferencing. The hope is to mimic, as closely as possible, what normally happens in our classrooms at the Athenaeum. Of course it will not be exactly the same, but in this time when many of us are experiencing anxiety and isolation, our hope is to continue to provide enriching experiences of artistic growth and community building, just in a different format.
The technology to make this happen is actually surprisingly simple (imagine a group FaceTime or Skype meeting). You only need a computer (phone or tablet) with a camera, microphone, and internet connection and we are here to help you should you experience any technical difficulties.
