Watercolor Succulents Class at the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library

Most everyone has succulents in their garden, since they do well in drought tolerant areas. They can be so diverse in shape with colorful variations and sizes. Why not paint them! This class is just as much about drawing as it is about painting. Many succulents have repetitive shapes so we will spend time on their detail using timeworn drawing techniques. Some drawing skills would be helpful, but beginners are always welcome. In the materials list I have included some of my favorite but unusual colors. Don’t feel you must purchase these specific colors. If you have a variety of colors (red, yellow, blue), please bring what you have but make sure they are watercolors that come in a tube. We will work from photos as well as real life. Bring cuttings of your favorite!
