2025 is set to be a year brimming with community, collaboration, and connections as the La Jolla Village Merchants Association (LJVMA) maintains its commitment to engaging with merchants and organizing events. During its Strategic Planning Workshop in December, almost 40 La Jolla community leaders, including the LJVMA board, developed and prioritized ideas and initiatives for the year.

The LJVMA board is proud to welcome a mix of experienced business veterans and some of the youngest leaders in its history. This diversity among board members, representing various business types, cultural backgrounds, and generations, is essential for the organization’s success.
This year’s strategic plan features a range of innovative events and groundbreaking partnerships that will make it exceptional. The NextGen Program emerged as one of the standout successes of 2024, highlighting the importance of face-to-face interactions among young professionals. This initiative aims to draw the next generation of vibrant business talent to La Jolla. The program, which attracts 80 to 100 attendees at its high-quality networking happy hour, will likely expand by introducing educational opportunities and avenues for community service and volunteering.
Be sure to mark your calendars for the evening of March 19, 2025, when the La Jolla Village Merchants Association will again host the extraordinary event, “Views of Nowruz.” This unforgettable cultural celebration will be infused with La Jolla’s international community’s flavors, sounds, and joy, showcasing the diverse tapestry of business owners that enrich our vibrant locale.
We are also excited to continue our collaboration with Fashion Week San Diego, exploring a variety of formal and informal fashion events that will highlight La Jolla’s remarkable boutiques, designers, and style-makers.
