Everyone who works and lives in La Jolla has a favorite place for a quick meeting and Sugar and Scribe is that place for me! I fell in love with pastry chef (and Food Network Holiday Baking Champion) Maeve Rochford the minute I met her and have continued my love affair with both the chef and the food ever since! I’m a soup fanatic and Sugar and Scribe has some of the tastiest soups around. My favorite is the chicken pozole served with the brown bread. It’s so healthy I never feel guilty saddling up to the pastry case for a sweet treat. Well — not too guilty, anyway. This is one place you have to see to appreciate and also offers one of my favorite photo stops in The Village. Who doesn’t love a wall of candy?
