Today I got a call from La Jolla Village Merchants Association Treasurer, Kelli Metcalf, (who is also my partner on the culinary adventure, 52 in 52). Kelli asked me why I if we were visiting all La Jolla Village Restaurants in reverse alphabetical order I went from Yogi Topi to Vons and skipped the Ws. I quickly looked at my list of La Jolla Village eating establishments and said, “I don’t have any Ws on my list.”
Kelli said, “What about ‘Wine Time?'”
While I know this neighborhood shop features an incredible selection of whites, reds and everything in between; I didn’t realize that they also had a deli. So, off we went to taste see what Wine Time’s deli had to offer. Small but mighty, we found a menu with sandwiches and salads featuring fresh meats, produce and breads. For only eight dollars, the two of us split a huge turkey sandwich which made for a perfect light lunch. I’ll definitely be back and invite you to check it out, too.
