“Know Your Rights” Workshop Coming to La Jolla

Running a small business is hard enough. Between managing staff, juggling costs, and keeping customers happy, the last thing any business owner should have to worry about is being shut down by government overreach—especially when you’re doing everything right.

But after the recent ICE raid in South Park, which led to restaurant closures, shaken employees, and significant economic disruption, small businesses throughout San Diego County are understandably feeling uneasy. Many are asking: What would I do if this happened at my business?

To help answer that question, County Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer has launched a new Know Your Rights Training Program through the County’s Office of Labor Standards and Enforcement (OLSE). This free program gives small business owners the practical information and confidence they need to:

✅ Stay compliant and protect their business
✅ Understand their rights during federal enforcement actions
✅ Support employees and avoid costly legal mistakes

The goal is simple: to help local businesses stay informed, protected, and strong.

Join Supervisor Lawson-Remer’s team for the first Know Your Rights: How to Respond to Immigration Enforcement Without Panic workshop right here in La Jolla.
