The City of San Diego is preparing to begin construction on the Torrey Pines Road Prospect Coast Walk Guardrail Project, an important safety improvement along the north side of Torrey Pines Road between Prospect Place and Coast Walk.
Construction is expected to take place primarily during nighttime hours, from 7:00 PM to 3:00 AM, Sundays through Thursdays, and continue through March 2027.
Drivers and cyclists should anticipate temporary lane restrictions and possible delays during these hours. Turn lanes, sidewalks and bike lanes may also be affected for limited periods during daytime construction. Please use extra caution, follow posted signs and allow additional time when traveling through the area.
What the Project Includes
The project will:
- Install approximately 420 feet of bridge rail, end blocks and crash cushions
- Replace sections of sidewalk, curb and gutter
- Relocate utilities
- Repave and restripe the affected roadway
- Install new signage
The City’s planning, design and construction budget for the project is approximately $3.04 million.
