Scripps Park will be alive with the sound of music for four consecutive Summer Sundays beginning July 14. Every summer, thanks to La Jolla Kiwanis, Scripps Park becomes a vibrant stage where bands perform an eclectic mix of music—from rock-n-roll and jazz to swing, big band, and Jimmy Buffet tributes. It’s the perfect way to enjoy a summer Sunday afternoon! Concerts are scheduled for four consecutive Sundays starting July 14, from 3:30 to 5:30 PM featuring the following bands:
July 14 – Atomic Groove, San Diego’s premier Variety Dance Band since 1995, knows how to wow a crowd and pack a dance floor. Atomic Groove’s crowd-pleasing songs and high energy are infectious. Atomic Groove has always been and always will be, about dance party fun. Good Vibes Only!
July 21 – Jimmy’s Buffet – Jimmy’s Buffet is pulling into port and is here to celebrate all the best of Jimmy Buffett’s music and vibes. This nine-piece party will have you singing like a tailgater. Jimmy’s Buffet always brings a wildly fun stage show featuring Steel Drums, Congas, and real Caribbean Melodies.
July 28 – Betamaxx – From Madonna’s synth-pop anthems to Guns N’ Roses’ rock-and-roll roar, BETAMAXX delivers iconic 80s tunes with an energetic stage presence. Designed to engage and entertain, each performance is a high-energy celebration of the 80s that stirs nostalgia and moves feet.
August – Big Time Operator – Five-time winner of the San Diego Music Awards for Best Big Band, Big Time Operator is true to the past yet totally contemporary. This 17-piece orchestra plays American classics and big band hits, spanning the golden age of Big Band Swing, the sultry rhythms of Latin, and the timeless melodies of the American songbook.
