ManeTain the Trail – La Jolla Coast Walk Cleanup – Sunday, July 17, 9 AM to 11 AM. Gather your friends, neighbors and family as we honor the Circle of Life spirit of the Lion King by giving back to the earth and protecting our natural resources.  Whether you can help with light maintenance or assist with registration and other administrative duties — all are welcome to clean up our version of Pride Rock!  Volunteers will be treated to refreshments, prizes, games and much more! Circle of Life Art Contest Call for Entries – July 5 – July 20 (Show Opens August 5) – Amateur artists of all ages are invited to submit their best representation of The Lion King themes — from the African animals and scenery of the Savannah to symbols of love, family, adventure, coming of age and even betrayal — the sky is the limit!  All media are welcome but must be submitted digitally by July 20 for review by a panel of professional artists.  Three-dimensional pieces can be photographed from multiple perspectives.  Selected pieces will be displayed beginning August 5.  People will be able to vote for their favorite pieces both online and in person.  Artists will be responsible for transporting their art to and from the La Jolla Village location.

• There will be three age categories: Twelve Years and Under, 13+ and Adult.
• Any medium is welcome but size will be considered when choosing pieces due to space limitations.

First Friday Art Walk. August 5, 4 PM to 7 PM. Akuna Matata is the theme of the August 5 Art Walk and will feature live music, sips, snacks, art demos, and over 16 galleries — many of which are dedicated to conservation and wildlife protection.  Join us for the Opening Reception of the Community Art Show where you can vote for your favorite piece and savor the creativity of artists of all ages.  Register for FREE and we’ll even throw in complimentary parking!
