Although the restaurant is brand new, the restauranteur is one of La Jolla’s most established chefs. I’m so excited that Giuseppe Ciuffa, founder of Giuseppe Restaurants & Fine Catering has opened an adorable cafe in SoVil (aka the southern part of La Jolla Village) on Torrey Pines Road. The menu is diverse and classicly California with unique salads, sandwiches, and the best bruschetta I’ve tasted in quite some time. Look for it on the menu as HOT & CRISPY TOMATO BREADfeaturing whole roasted garlic & cold-pressed olive oil. I went with my long-time friend and well known La Jolla Light account executive, Cheryl Troncellito, who treated me for a belated birthday lunch. But, the icing on the cake (literally) was the peanut butter mousse chocolate torte! Happy birthday to me (again!).
