Play Day: Scavenged Sculpture

FreeJoin us on Free Second Sunday for our free family series, Play Day!
Let’s come together to create small-scale figurative sculptures inspired by the captivating artwork of Puerto Rican painter and sculptor Daniel Lind-Ramos, featured in MCASD’s special exhibition, Forecast Form: Art in the Caribbean Diaspora, 1990’s–Today.
Art Activity: Embark on a journey of sculpture-making, utilizing scavenged materials sourced from our supply inventory and the wonders of nature to build our own masterpieces.
Schedule:
- At 11AM, explore works from the Museum’s permanent collection with a kid friendly tour.
- At 12:30PM, listen to stories, songs, and rhymes in Storytime with Librarian Ms. Katia
- From 11AM-2PM, enjoy Caribbean music by DJ Ian Young, a Caribbean themed book nook, a Library Reference Desk by Ms. Katia Graham, and free play on McGrath Terrace
*Museum admission is free from 11AM – 5PM for all visitors, with Play Day offerings happening between 11AM – 2PM.
