March 12 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

215
Tue Date: Mar 12 2024 From: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM Location: Trilogy Sanctuary
Trilogy All Levels Acro Yoga WorkshopWelcome to an exploration of creative movement and flowing connection as we discover the practice of acro yoga. This beautiful partnership between strength, grace, foundation & fluidity integrates acrobatic postures with elements of yoga and thai massage. We will work together to train skills, build trust & refine communication styles with others in a fun and dynamic environment — playfully raging against the bounds of gravity.

Find levity with friends both new and familiar as we try different roles as a base, flyer, and spotter. No partner needed, no experience required. This all-levels workshop will present material that is both accessible and challenging, with progressions provided to find successes and meet with new edges of growth.

Trilogy offers two Acro Yoga workshops per month:

2nd Tuesday, 6-730pm: Steve & Gina (@acrothornado, @flyginapie)

4th Tuesday, 6-730pm: Adam & Jenna (@adam.hiner, @jennahollow)

Highlights
*The joys and thrills of fresh movement patterns, unexpected abilities, and new friendships
*A strange fusion of fun, fitness, and finding flow
*Laughs, challenges, and potential soreness the next day
*A greater understanding of oneself and how to communicate and connect with others

What to bring: a mat, water bottle, good attitude, and willingness to play!

BIO
Steve & Gina
teach and perform partner acrobatics and Acro Yoga in San Diego and around the world. They share a love for physical embodiment and playful expression that has evolved into an extension of their relationship, an emergence of connection that informs & inspires their teaching practice and performance style. Gina’s background as a professional ballet dancer and ocean-loving surfer girl softens the edges of Steve’s rougher seasoning as a former military officer and sometimes Viking impressionist. With over 10 years of acro experience each and hundreds of classes, festivals, performances and other offerings in their wake, the adventure continues to flourish as two became three with the addition of a vibrant son Koa in 2023. Together their intention is to share with others the joy and transformation that Acro Yoga has the power to impart. Soaring spirits fueled by passion & play lead to the creation of more beauty in this world, so let’s all become frequent flyers! When not at Trilogy Sanctuary, you can find Steve & Gina at the Om Garden in Pacific Beach (or off traveling to far-off lands).

Adam & Jenna have a longstanding friendship and partnership that’s been a source of great leadership and continuity for the San Diego Acro Yoga community. Adam’s journey began with a background in yoga including Vinyasa, Anusara and Ashtanga — and a lifelong love for movement. In 2014 he began training under Jean-Luc Martin — owner of the San Diego Circus Center and a top coach in the nation for partner acrobatics + handstands. Jenna, too has always been motivated by movement. She received a degree in Kinesiology and completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training, where she had her first exposure to Acro Yoga. She has her Master’s in Special Education and is currently teaching homeschool clients and obtaining her Spelling 2 Communicate certification to help nonspeaking individuals learn to spell and type to communicate. Adam and Jenna both completed an acro certification through Acro Revolution and enjoy helping students build confidence in their abilities while also finding joy and connection through movement. Outside of workshops at Trilogy, Adam organizes the AcroLove Festivals that bring together some of the best teachers and practitioners from throughout the country to share skills, inspire growth, and build community.
