The Children’s Pool in La Jolla is a small beach with a seawall originally built to create a protected swimming area. Over time, sand has filled much of the space, but it’s now a favorite spot for scuba divers exploring the nearby reefs. It’s also become a hot spot for watching harbor seals, who rest on the beach year-round. During pupping season, from December 15 to May 15, the beach is closed to the public to protect the seals and their newborns.
