“Heroes & Legends” Art Exhibition – Opening Night

Explore the power of modern-day mythologies and religious traditions highlighting the stories that make us human. Southern California artist Isaac Brynjegard-Bialik’s unique papercuts are a world unto themselves, drawing from cut-up comic books as source material then intricately reassembled into works of sinuous shapes, sharp edges, and fantastical pops of color. Brynjegard-Bialik’s work has been compared to the pop culture-inspired works of the 60s, to traditional stained glass, to biblical commentary – but it is a thing unto itself that needs to be seen in person: intricate and delicate work composed of sinuous shapes, sharp edges, and fantastical pops of color.
