La Jolla is not known for its night-life but Hennessey’s Tavern is an exception to this rule.  With their nightly specials (my posse headed over on a Tuesday night for the BOGO Burgers.  Their willingness to substitute veggie and turkey burgers for the beef version make this a bargain even healthy eaters will love.  Plus, this month they are featuring the famous Beyond Beef burger which, like the Impossible Burger is the vegetarian burger getting lots of buzz.  But of course, Hennessey’s is a tavern at heart and has a warm friendly feel that attracts regulars.  Hennessey’s which was founed in 1976 by Paul Hennessey, an entrepreneurial former Wall Street stock trader, now has ten taverns located in Southern California and Las Vegas.
