Enjoy a concert featuring classical selections on Fred’s standard size classical guitar and selections on a vintage guitar built in Mirecourt, France in 1830.

Fred Benedetti has been playing the guitar since he was nine years old. His biggest influences: His Father, The Beatles, and Andres Segovia. Fred’s guitar has taken him throughout the United States, England, Germany, the Czech Republic, Canada, Taiwan and Mexico and he has played locally as a Solo act, Guitar Duo, and Trio with his daughters, and countless musicians in the area including large organizations like the San Diego Symphony, the San Diego Opera, the Starlight Opera, the American Ballet Company, the Old Globe Theatre, amongst them Luciano Pavarotti, and jazz artist Dave Brubeck. He is an emeritus professor of music at Grossmont College where he is the head of the guitar studies program.He has performed for dignitaries such as the King & Queen of Malaysia, Mikhail Gorbachev and Ravi Shankar. He loves playing all styles of music and often plays on a ukulele, baritone guitar, and a double-neck guitar. He did get to play for his idol Andres Segovia in 1986 and is looking forward to playing with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr one day…
